To carry out Financial and Management Accounting in full compliance with statutory requirements, best practices, established strategies, systems, budgets, plans, and approved company procedures, ensuring the delivery of efficient, cost-effective, and value-added services to all LHU end-users in support of achieving the organization’s strategic objectives.
Job description
- Review bank reconciliations and identify processing errors.
- Review assigned monthly general ledger and sub ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare key general ledger and sub ledger reconciliations assigned
- Ensure the accurate and timely capture of required operational and financial metrics as part of the month-end reporting process.
- Prepare monthly and annual Income Tax calculation.
- Complete and submit provisional and annual income tax returns within the prescribed deadlines.
- Review departmental cost reports and variance analysis, investigate significant variances, and engage with relevant stakeholders to obtain and provide explanations for material cost movements.
- Manage the CAPEX and fixed asset accounting process, including capital project authorisation, coding, documentation, tracking and reporting in line with approved budgets, IFRS requirements and IAS 16 standards.
- Oversee capitalisation, depreciation, fixed asset register maintenance, actual spend versus budget monitoring, capital reporting, and provide advice on project spend and cash flow.
- Perform assigned cash management activities, including review of petty cash transactions and controls, upload of weekly creditor payment batches onto the EFT banking system based on approved registers and adherence to overall established payment procedures and internal controls.
- Perform key financial administration and control activities, including review and creation of approved vendors in the ERP system, resolution of escalated financial processing matters and review of monthly payroll overtime and related discrepancies.
Minimum requirements
- B. Degree (Hons) in Accounting / CTA certified.
- Chartered Accountant (NAM) qualification will be an added advantage.
- Articles completed with one of the recognized auditing firms.
- 5 years post Hons/CTA qualification experience.
- Experience in the mining industry will be an added advantage.
- Code B Driver’s License.
