Ensuring that the company and broader group have effective internal controls and ensures the organization adheres to them, identify risks to prevent fraud or non-compliance in place to provide sufficient comfort to the Board of Directors and Audit and Risk Committee.
Job description
- Implement the risk and compliance framework.
- Plan, conduct, and report on regular, risk-based internal, financial, and operational assessments, audits and report findings.
- Enforce compliance with all legislative and regulatory framework in the mining industry, by enforcing the governance, legislation and compliance framework required.
- Compile and maintain the risk register in consultation with relevant management and facilitate updates thereof.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing financial policies, procedures and controls in line with global best practice, COSO, and the Companies Act of Namibia and Corporations Act of Australia.
- Advise on company ethics and integrity in accordance with the Code of Ethics.
- Provide the necessary compliance monitoring and tracking statistics for compliance reporting to the board, senior leadership, regulatory investment, finance, annual reports and shareholders.
Minimum requirements
- Honours’ Degree in Accounting.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with completed articles.
- 8 years’ post qualification experience in internal control monitoring and compliance.
- Code B driver’s license.
