Introduction
The Process Operator is responsible to operate unit operations effectively and safely at agreed set points and throughput rates.
Job description
- Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility
- Comply with LHU safety standards and instructions
- Participate in toolbox meetings, raise production and HSE concerns, and propose solutions where possible
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safe work instructions in the execution of duties
- Inspect faulty equipment, take corrective action if possible, or report faulty/defective equipment to Engineering and perform PTW/LOTO protocols
- Comply with operating guidelines and the shift supervisor’s instructions to achieve shift production targets
- Promptly report all incidents to the supervisor during the shift
- Take samples for laboratory analysis when required.
- Execute operational responsibilities during plant shutdowns, e.g. plant cleaning, PTW/LOTO, regular field inspections to verify that work is being carried in a safe manner, and interact with Engineering to minimize shut overruns
- Participate in process improvement projects and execute tasks to support their implementation
- Give clear, detailed shift handovers to your relief.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- 5 years working experience in a processing plant in a mining environment.
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
