Introduction
The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate, manage maintenance of all equipment and systems in area of responsibility to ensure that production targets are achieved, at maximum availability and optimum cost, including adherence to job safety and good housekeeping standards.
Job description
- Develop and implement the maintenance management framework.
- Attend to and resolve plant breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
- Carry out equipment, system inspections in order to optimize maintenance costs and engineering down time.
- Prepare maintenance performance reports, equipment repair history, recommend and implement corrective action.
- Analyse weekly performance plan to ensure that production targets are achieved.
- Recommend and implement improvements to work practices, methods and procedures in area of responsibility.
- Manage departmental tools and workshop areas and ensure assets are maintained in a good condition.
- Develop and execute shut plans.
- Perform failure analysis and implementation of corrective actions when necessary.
- Plan and coordinate the execution of preventative and unplanned maintenance.
- Identify appropriate control strategy in area of responsibility in order to address immediate and long-term requirements.
- Oversee contractor activities and manage timesheet administration to maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Lead and co-ordinate the work of the subordinates to accomplish designated objectives.
- Comply with LHU safety standards and instructions.
Minimum requirements
- Trade Certificate (Fitting & Turning/Boilermaking/Millwright) – Level 3.
- Seven (7) years relevant experience of which 3 years should be in a supervisory capacity.
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
