Introduction
The Process SCADA Operator is responsible to operate unit operations effectively and safely at prescribed parameters.
Job description
- Monitor the process and operating equipment in area of responsibility from SCADA system.
- Investigate possible causes of equipment malfunction, take corrective action if possible, or report faulty/defective equipment to Process Supervisor and Engineering.
- Mitigate impact on production and efficiencies during process interruptions.
- Liaise effectively with multiple disciplines including field operators, metallurgists, Engineering teams and SCADA operators from other sections of the plant.
- Analyse and interpret shift, process and equipment performance trends and variances using SCADA trends.
- Maintain throughput and product quality in accordance with targets.
- Execute operational responsibilities during shutdowns and interact with Engineering to maximise operational runtime.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, raise production and HSE concerns, and propose solutions where possible.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safe work instructions in the execution of duties.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- 5 years working experience in a processing plant in a mining environment of which 3 years must be SCADA/CPC experience.
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
