Introduction
Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance and shutdown activities across the Engineering Department to maintain the processing plant and utilities engineering availability, reliability, and operational performance of plant equipment.
Job description
- Plan and schedule all critical jobs within established timeframes to minimize operational risk.
- Create work orders and determine the scope of work, review asset life cycle plan and future work to confirm scope is aligned with tactics.
- Coordinate with end users to ensure scheduled work is adequately planned and resourced.
- Conduct regular reviews of preventive maintenance tasks to ensure continued alignment with the maintenance strategy and asset management objectives.
- Plan and monitor weekly maintenance activities to achieve operational targets.
- Monitor and manage maintenance backlog levels and develop weekly plans accordingly.
- Provide functional support for the Pronto system to enhance user efficiency and system performance.
- Review, spare parts lists, equipment Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and critical spare requirements to ensure effectiveness, availability, and reliability.
- Participate in enterprise resource planning activities to support asset reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
- Plan and facilitate shutdown planning meetings in areas of responsibility to ensure alignment of activities and resources.
- Conduct shutdown analysis to evaluate performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Report recurring equipment failures and reliability improvement opportunities to Engineering Superintendent.
- Maintain maintenance performance reports and metrics.
- Maintain and comply with SHER policies, procedures, regulations, and practices.
Minimum requirements
- Trade Certificate in Mechanical, Millwright, Electrical or Control & Instrumentation – Level 3.
- 5 years’ post apprenticeship experience in the relevant trades in the mining environment, with 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner.
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
