To contribute to the efficient operation and implementation of the Radiation Management System at Langer Heinrich Mine.
Job description
- Perform routine monitoring according to the Radiation Monitoring Program.
- Generate analysis summaries for data monitoring.
- Analyze monitoring data to ensure adequacy and accuracy.
- Identify and report radiation hazards in the workplace.
- Provide technical advice to assist in mitigation and management of any radiation hazards.
- Provide technical support for shipment of product as required.
- Check that the radiation procedures are adhered to.
- Perform all equipment tests and ensure that their calibration is up to date as required.
- Promote radiation safety precautions amongst employees.
- Ensure compliance with Langer Heinrich Uranium’s Environmental, Social and Governance & Radiation (ESG & R), Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (majoring in Physics, Chemistry or Biology) or equivalent.
- 2 years working experience in a radiation safety compliance environment, Uranium mining experience will be an added advantage.
- Basic working knowledge of methods of radiation management in the mining and processing of radioactive minerals.
- Working knowledge of the Atomic Energy and Radiation Protection Act and the Namibian Radiation Protection Regulatory Framework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
